We host regular events around Manchester. The best place to hear about the upcoming events is the monthly bulletin email, via our public Facebook page or our private members groups (you will receive details to this in your welcome email, if you are a member and have not received an invitation please do not hesitate to contact our membership officer).
Below you'll find details of our regular events.
We hold business meetings on the 4th Thursday of every month. These are exclusive to Green Party members only, and members will receive an invitation detailing the location via email. We also list them on the members only Facebook group. These meetings are used to discuss party business with executive team members reporting on updates. Although all members are welcome to attend this meeting it should be noted that there is little discussion time in these meetings and they are often very fast-paced and task-focused.
We endeavour to organise at least 6 Discussion Meetings each year. These meetings are open to all members, and to the wider public, and are based around particular topics/policies. We are currently looking for a MGP member to help coordinate these events; choosing topics, picking a venue, sourcing guest speakers etc. If you would be interested in helping with this please contact Adam, party chair on email@example.com.
Throughout the year we will arrange social events to ensure that members are given the opportunity to get to know each other at a range of events from picnics to drinks in the pub. These are informal and have no agreed structure or agenda, so are great for new members or supporters wanting to find out a little more about us.
We also encourage any members to arrange opportunities to meet at events happening in the area that might be of interest, simply let Stef from the communications team know and she will share the opportunity with the wider group. We'll advertise our social events via e-mail bulletins and our public Facebook page. Most social events are open to non-members who may wish to find out about the local party. Please let us know if you'd like to come along.
As a political party we are keen to have a presence at, and support any protests which reflect our values. If you are aware of an event and wish to attend, we can promote your attendance at the event via our communication channels and hopefully gain more supporters. If you are a non-member organising a protest that you think MGP will be interested in, please contact us so we can review and share with our members if suitable.
