In advance of the Peoples Assembly against Austerity on 22 June a number of regional meetings are being held. Manchester’s is on 21 May at the Central Hall, Oldham St, M1 1JQ. Stalls from 5.30, main event from 6.30. Speakers include Mark Steel and Owen Jones. Manchester Green Party are proud to be among the sponsors of this meeting.
We are starting at 5.30pm with an open mic session for local campaigns
We have a host of really vibrant local campaigns and trade unions fighting against local and national cut backs that want the opportunity to meet you and hear your views.
There will be open mic for these campaigns from 5.30pm.
We strongly advise you to arrive by 6.30pm to hear Owen Jones and Mark Steel.
We have laid on Caribbean patties and drinks for sale to raise funds.
The tickets are free but if everyone who comes could donate just £1.00 we will have covered our costs and be able to fund subsidised transport to the national assembly in London. So if you can - bring some money with you.
Can you help on the night … ? Serving food, stewarding etc? Email email@example.com
Sign up for the national People’s Assembly Against Austerity in London
This Manchester event has been organised to build for the People’s Assembly against Austerity in London on 22 June. It’s a whole day so there will be more space and time for workshops and discussion to take place.
We will be asking people to register an interest in pre organised transport so don’t forget to sign up if you want to be updated.
If you've not yet booked
To register (it’s free, but you need to book in advance) go to http://thepeoplesassembly.org.uk/manchester-peoples-assembly-rally-austerity-cut-it-out/ and follow the links. However, there is currently a waiting list so, unless extra accomodation can be found, prepare to be disappointed.
This event is organised by the People's Assembly, and not by the Green Party. See their website at thepeoplesassembly.org.uk.
This event is not a Manchester Green Party event, but is promoted by another organisation.
We do, however, plan to have a presence at the event.
