The Green Party are proud to have local candidates standing in 29 wards in Manchester for the upcoming local elections on 5th May. The full list of your local Green Candidates can be found here.
In 2014, Manchester Green Party polled more votes in the City Council elections than every other Party except Labour with well over 20% in the wards of Hulme, Fallowfield and Whalley Range.
Matt Schreibke, Manchester Green Party Co-chair adds, 'We've had a warm reception while speaking to residents and coupled with the results from 2014 we're confident that 2016 will be the year for another Green Councillor in Manchester.'
Across the whole of Greater Manchester, the Green Party are standing 173 candidates - 80 % of the total, and significantly more than either the Liberal Democrats or UKIP. The Green Party is the second largest party in Manchester, voting Green is the real alternative to combat the 100% problem of an entirely Labour Council.
With two weeks to go, we need your help with the final push. If you'd like to join us canvassing or delivering newsletters and leaflets, please contact our Co-Chair Matt Schreibke firstname.lastname@example.org.
Full training will be given so no experience needed, just the desire to get a Green councillor in Manchester!
